Billy Crudup in talks to rejoin The Flash as Barry Allen’s father

Billy Crudup, ,The Flash, Ezra Miller

According to THR, Billy Crudup is currently in early negotiations to join Warner Bros.' THE FLASH as the father of Barry Allen (Ezra Miller). No, you're not crazy, Crudup has been attached to play the role for a number of years and did make a brief appearance in JUSTICE LEAGUE, but as development on THE FLASH experienced delay after delay, word is that Crudup eventually dropped the project and moved on.

Now that development on THE FLASH is back on track with Andy Muschietti slated to start shooting the film next year, Billy Crudup is inking a new deal to return as Henry Allen. There's no word on whether Kiersey Clemons will also be returning to THE FLASH to play Iris West, but I suppose we'll have to wait and see. Unlike Crudup, Clemons was cut out of JUSTICE LEAGUE entirely, but she will be making an appearance in Zack Snyder's upcoming director's cut of JUSTICE LEAGUE for HBO Max. The latest draft of THE FLASH was penned by Christina Hodson and will find Flash traveling back in time to prevent the murder of his mother, which will have drastic consequences when he returns to his timeline.

Although development on THE FLASH has been less than smooth over the years, the project is shaping up to be something quite interesting. Ezra Miller be reprising his role of Barry Allen, and he'll be joined by Michael Keaton who will be reprising his role of Bruce Wayne/Batman, a character he hasn't played on the big-screen since BATMAN RETURNS in 1992. Not only that, but Ben Affleck will also be returning to play Bruce Wayne/Batman one. Bring on the multi-verse! THE FLASH is currently slated to hit theaters on June 3, 2022.
