The stellar cast of Disney’s THE JUNGLE BOOK directed by Jon Favreau is surely going to get a lot of attention when the trailers and posters start to roll out. Bill Murray has now joined the cast of as the voice of Baloo! We recently told you that Christopher Walken will be playing King Louie, Ben Kingsley will play Bagheera, Lupita Nyong’o will play Raksha, Idris Elba is Shere Khan and Scarlett Johansson will play Kaa.
We already know that THE JUNGLE BOOK will be a combination of live-action and animation; but now with all these creative casting choices and Jon Favreau at the helm, they just might have something here that interests me. There have been a lot of versions of Rudyard Kipling‘s story, the animated version being the most well-known. The material is hot right now with another telling of the story coming from Andy Serkis; his newly titled THE JUNGLE BOOK: ORIGINS from Warner Bros. will hit October 21, 2016. No casting for the Serkis version has been announced yet but he did say it would be as dark ast he book, something I don’t think we will get from the Disney version.
Jon Favreau‘s THE JUNGLE BOOK will be released in 3D and arrives in theaters on October 9, 2015.
They have my money if Bill Murray sings Bear Necessities, that’s just a fact:
