Attention all of your Big Mouth fans out there. Netflix's off-color animated comedy series is getting a spinoff titled Human Resources, and today we have plot and casting details.
To begin, Human Resources takes place in the supernatural homeworld of Big Mouth hormone monsters, Maurice and Connie, voiced by Nick Kroll and Maya Rudolph. In the far more adult world of the monsters, also inhabited by the Shame Wizards, Depression Kitties, and a host of other species which guide humanity through the various stages of life from puberty to childbirth and into our autumn years, the creatures themselves will be the show’s main protagonists.
Kroll and Rudolph will reprise their roles for Human Resources as Maurice and Connie, respectively, and will be joined by Aidy Bryant (Saturday Night Live), Randall Park (WandaVision), and Keke Palmer (Hustlers). It's also been confirmed that David Thewlis' Shame Wizard will be heavily featured in the spinoff. The same goes for Brandon Kyle Goodman (Feel the Beat), who's set to join the cast of Big Mouth Season 4.
Human Resources is set to be animated by Big Mouth animators Titmouse. Meanwhile, Human Resources creators and executive producers Kroll, Andrew Goldberg, Mark Levin, Jennifer Flackett, and Kelly Galuska recently formed their own animation production company, Brutus Pink. The group just signed a deal with Netflix that will have them creating and developing a swath of adult-animated film and television projects for the streamer.
Coincidently, I just started watching Big Mouth a few weeks ago and wrapped on the first season this past weekend. If you've yet to check it out, I can't recommend it enough. It's unflinching and outright hilarious. It's also a show that isn't for prudes. In other words, if raunchy coming-of-age comedy isn't your thing, you might want to steer clear of this one.
