Better Call Saul fans are flustered after watching a brief teaser for the sixth and final season. The 15-second Better Call Saul Season 6 teaser presents an active crime scene. As officers scramble to investigate the scene, cousins Leonel and Marco Salamanca arrive to cause trouble. Well, trouble might not be the appropriate word. They stroll through the scene while wearing flashy suits, looking fly AF. While the teaser doesn’t make the final season’s premiere date obvious, fans speculate that the evidence markers could be giving us the show’s premiere date. If you look closely, you’ll notice that the evidence markers say D and R, the fourths and 18th letters of the alphabet. Does this mean Better Call Saul Season 6 premieres on April 18th?
Better Call Saul co-creators Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould plan on wrapping up all the loose ends when the show makes its return after a two-year absence. “I don’t want to say we’ve got it all figured out. I’m very happy to have Vince in the writers room this season, even though we’re doing it remotely, because we’re getting to finish this thing that we started together. But we’re deep in the struggle. Even though we have ideas about where we’re going, we’re always ready to jettison them,” Gould told Rolling Stone in 2020. “We have these 13 episodes, and that’s it. There’s no ‘eventually’ anymore.”
While Bob Odenkirk does not appear in the Better Call Saul Season 6 teaser, the actor is excited for fans to see how the series will end. Odenkirk suffered a heart attack last year but was able to return to the set after his recovery. “Back to work on ‘Better Call Saul!’ So happy to be here and living this specific life surrounded by such good people. BTW this is makeup-pro Cheri Montesanto making me not ugly for shooting,” Odenkirk posted to social media after returning to the set.
The shocking news of Odenkirk’s heart attack occurred on July 27, 2021, after the actor collapsed suddenly on set while filming season 6 of Better Call Saul in New Mexico. In the days following his collapse and hospitalization, Odenkirk updated his fans on Twitter by saying, “Hi. It’s Bob. Thank You. To my family and friends who have surrounded me this week. And for the outpouring of love from everyone who expressed concern and care for me. It’s overwhelming. But I feel the love and it means so much. I had a small heart attack. But I’m going to be ok thanks to Rose Estrada and the doctors who knew how to fix the blockage without surgery. Also, AMC and Sony’s support and help throughout this has been next-level. I’m going to take a beat to recover but I’ll be back soon.”
