Best Man: Dolph Lundgren, Luke Wilson, and Scout Taylor-Compton to star in new action film

Who’s ready for weddings with a side of terrorism? Saban Films has purchased the worldwide rights to Best Man, an action film starring Dolph Lundgren, Luke Wilson, and Scout Taylor-Compton.

Directed by Shane Dax Taylor (The Grey, Provinces of Night), Best Man is set on a remorse resort amid a wedding where mercenaries take control of the property. To combat the situation, the groom, the best man, and their best friend must work together to defeat the terrorists and save the hostages. In addition to the stars mentioned above, Nicky Whelan, Brendan Fehr, and Scott Martin also star.

C. Alec Rossel wrote the screenplay based on a story by Daniel Zirilli. Matthew Helderman and Luke Taylor of BondIt Media Capital will serve as executive producers and finance the movie.

Dolph Lundgren recently lent his voice to Minions 2: The Rise of Gru and has multiple films in post-production, including Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom and The Expendables 4. Wilson recently wrapped his part for Plus/Minus, which tells the story of a college graduate whose life diverges into two parallel realities. Last but certainly not least, Taylor-Compton recently completed a part for Chariot. The Adam Sigal-directed film tells the story of a corporation and a doctor (John Malkovich) that oversees the process of reincarnation when a young man (Thomas Mann) becomes a glitch in the system when he encounters a woman (Rosa Salazar) he loved in a previous life.

We don’t know much about Best Man beyond the basics, though it certainly sounds like a celebration. Do you think the terrorists brought a gift? What will be the tone of the movie? Will there be comedic elements, or is this an all-out action thrill ride? We’ll be sure to provide more details when they become available.
