Benicio del Toro to voice Swiper the Fox for Dora the Explorer movie

"Give me the map, you f*cking c***sucker."

Hola! Soy Esteban. It's been announed that THE USUAL SUSPECTS and SNATCH star Benicio del Toro has signed on to play the elusive and villainous Swiper the Fox for Paramount's upcoming live-action adaptation of DORA THE EXPLORER. In Nickelodeon's original animated series upon which the upcoming film is based, Swiper arrives as a crafty pain in the culo for Dora and her friends, as they explore a world filled with wonder, valuable lessons to be learned, and adventure around every hilltop. Even though DORA THE EXPLORER wrapped production in Austrailia several weeks ago, del Toro will have the opportunity to lend his voice to the CG character during the project's post-production process.

Helmed by THE MUPPETS director James Bobin, DORA THE EXPLORER stars Isabela Moner (SICARIO: SAY OF THE SALDADO, TRANSFORMERS: THE LAST KNIGHT) as Dora, an adventurous young woman who grew up in the jungle with her parents and now has to cope with the uncharted terrain of high school.

The cast also includes ANT-MAN's Michael Pena, Eva Longoria (DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES, BROOKLYN NINE-NINE), Q'orianka Kilcher (ALIENIST, SONS OF ANARCHY),Temuera Morrison (GREEN LANTERN, AQUAMAN), Eugenio Derbez (HOW TO BE A LATIN LOVER, OVERBOARD), Madeleine Madden (AROUND THE BLOCK, MYSTERY ROAD), Adriana Barraza (DRAG ME TO HELL, BABEL), and Jeffrey Wahlberg (FUTURE WORLD, TOYED), among others.

In the past, the upcoming DORA THE EXPLORER feature has been said to have a GOONIES-like flavor to it, as the story will also find Dora leading her best friend Boots and a rag-tag group of teens on a wayward journey to save her parents and solve the mystery behind a lost Inca civilization.

Grab your map, load up your backpack, and prepare for adventure when DORA THE EXPLORER marches into theaters on August 2, 2019.
