There has been a ton of smoke to the Benicio del Toro joining the cast of STAR WARS: EPISODE VIII fire going back to July. As recently as a couple weeks ago, Del Toro was talking that it might maybe could possibly happen, but he couldn't really say too much about it.
It appears the more Del Toro discusses his potential involvement in the future of the STAR WARS Saga though, the more he winds up revealing. As it initially came out, Del Toro was being eyed to play the villain for Rian Johnson's chapter of new STAR WARS movies. But according to a new interview Del Toro gave, it might not be as clean cut as that.
"The thing is…. They don’t let me talk too much about it, I’m like the villain."
Now he didn't say he was the villain exactly. He stated he was like the villain, which could very well mean that he is similar to a villain, giving the benefit of the doubt that he doesn't like use the word "like" in like his sentences like every other like person in America like does these days…. y'know what I'm sayin'?
Could that mean there are more nefarious forces at work as things progress in the storyline and Benicio Del Toro is just a character who happens to act in ways that could be considered villainous, too? Hmmm… Let the speculation on new mysteries for a bit. It'll give us the chance to give THE FORCE AWAKENS some time to recuperate and rest.
Oh… and an extra bonus for those of you keeping track… Del Toro also claims EPISODE VIII will start shooting in March, so expect lots of drones to hit the air around then.
STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS, in case you haven't committed it to memory yet, lands in theaters on December 18, 2015. Better start memorizing STAR WARS: EPISODE VIII for May 26, 2017.
