Director Noah Baumbach has already begun filming for his next feature film. The Film Stage is reporting that production on his MISTRESS AMERICA follow-up kicked off earlier this week, with a cast that includes Ben Stiller, Adam Sandler, Dustin Hoffman, Emma Thompson, and Boardwalk Empire actress Grace Van Patten. We also have a synopsis for the movie, thanks to a filming notice that was spotted near the set.
The film tells the story of an estranged New York family coming together in preparation of artist & patriarch Harold’s career retrospective.
There's no details on Stiller, Sandler and Van Patten's roles, but the site has heard that Hoffman is playing the father of the family, while Thompson described her character as "a dreadful, passive-aggressive alcoholic" in a recent interview with USA Today.
There seems to be some confusion about the film's title though. The movie is titled YEN DIN KA KISSA on the notice, however USA Today is referring to it as THE MEYEROWITZ STORIES. Regardless of what it ends up being called, Baumbach has rounded up a very solid cast for his new film, and as a pretty big fan of the director, I can't wait to check it out.
