Update: Since Casey's appearance on the Dale & Holley with Keefe radio show, a representative of Affleck's reached out to Buzzfeed News and said, “he was having fun with the folks at the Red Sox game — where he threw out the first pitch in support of the Jimmy Fund — and not speaking from a place of firsthand knowledge.” Shortly thereafter, Ben Affleck's own rep contacted the same outlet and stated, “he'll continue to be Batman as long as the studio will have him.”

Hello Batfans, and welcome to what I'd like to call The Ballad of Batfleck, Will He or Won't He? For some time now, it's been uncertain as to whether or not actor Ben Affleck will stay on as Bruce Wayne/Batman for the the future of the DCEU. Not long ago, while participating in a Halll H panel for JUSTICE LEAGUE during San Diego Comic Con, the seasoned actor told fans that he's "not going anywhere." Now, Ben's brother, Casey, is claiming the opposite.
While contributing to an episode of WEEI's Dale & Holley with Keefe radio show, Casey Affleck told the outlet that he thought his brother was "an OK Batman." Casey then back-peddles a bit by adding, “No, he was great. He was great. He’s a hero, so he had something to channel and work with there. But he’s not going to do that movie [The Batman], I don’t think. Sorry to say.” After his hosts were left feeling taken aback by Casey's statement, the actor decided to retract his previous lip-flappery. "Is that breaking news? Because I was just kind of making that up, I don’t know," Casey said. Needless to say, Warner Bros. has yet to comment on Casey Affleck's sour-tasting word soup.
Welp, there you have it, folks. Join us next time for another exhausting installment of The Ballad of Batfleck, Will He or Won't He?, as I'm sure that the saga is far from over. Man, I remember when a source had told THR that the studio was mapping out a plan to usher Affleck out of the cape and cowl, gracefully. Shortly after that, Affleck came forward saying that he was totally on board to remain as the DCEU's Dark Knight. With any luck, we'll have a definitive answer soon, and we can put all of this uncertainty behind us.
JUSTICE LEAGUE will launch into action when it debuts in theaters beginning on November 17th.
