AMITYVILLE: THE AWAKENING isn't the only horror film starring Bella Thorne that has been sitting on the shelf for years. There's also director Sean Carter's KEEP WATCHING, which was going under the title HOME INVASION when Thorne first signed on to star in it way back in 2013.
Screen Gems picked up the KEEP WATCHING distribution rights in 2015 with the hopes of building a franchise out of the concept screenwriter Joseph Dembner and producer Alex Heineman crafted together, but have yet to release their franchise starter.
The film's synopsis:
A family imprisoned by intruders is forced to play a terrifying game of “Kill, Or Be Killed”. As the night unfolds, the game’s mysterious rules become clear, and the family realizes their nightmare is being streamed live to riveted viewers all over the world, who are compelled to keep watching…not knowing if what they’re seeing is real, or staged.
Thorne's co-stars include Chandler Riggs, Natalie Martinez, Ioan Gruffudd, Matthew Willig, and Leigh Whannell.
There's no word on exactly when KEEP WATCHING will be getting a release, but a trailer for the film has arrived online to give us a preview of its slashery horrors while we continue to wait.
