It was just yesterday that we passed along word that Netflix and director Mike Flanagan's (OCULUS, HUSH, GERALD'S GAME, and OUIJA: ORIGIN OF EVIL) upcoming 10 episode series based on Shirley Jackson's 1959 novel THE HAUNTING OF HILL HOUSE was going to be unleashing its first trailer today and BEHOLD here it is!
I'm going to be trying my best to avoid watching this sure to be killer trailer throughout the next month. I like to walk into my horror movies (and TV shows for that matter) with a clean slate, and this is especially true of the works of Flanagan as his films always pack some great surprises and truly frightening scares. I don't want some marketing team to ruin those for me.
That said, feel free to check the trailer out in all its no doubt spooky glory below and then make sure to hit us up and let us know what you think! Flanagan's take on The Haunting of Hill House is described as a "modern reimagining" of Jackson's novel. The story centers on
a group of siblings who, as children, grew up in what would go on to become the most famous haunted house in the country. Now adults, and forced back together in the face of tragedy, the family must finally confront the ghosts of their past — some of which still lurk in their minds while others may actually be stalking the shadows of Hill House.
The cast includes Michiel Huisman, Carla Gugino, Henry Thomas, Elizabeth Reaser, Kate Siegel, Timothy Hutton, Annabeth Gish, Oliver Jackson-Cohen, Victoria Pedretti, Mckenna Grace, Violet McGraw, Lulu Wilson, Paxton Singleton, and Julian Hilliard. The premiere date is October 12th.
