Based on book by author James Frey (best known for the memoir “A Million Little Pieces” and for then getting evisceratead by Oprah for being a writer who fabricates stories), FOUR is about extraterrestrial humanoids trying to assimilate to high school life on Earth.
Obliterator Michael Bay and his TRANSFORMERS/Dreamworks cohort Steven Spielberg are producing, but DJ Caruso (DISTURBIA, EAGLE EYE) is set to direct.
The story, which sounds like TV’s “Roswell” mixed with a hundred old comic books (it involves evil aliens who stripmine planets and good aliens who develop special powers in their teens), is being adapted by “Smallville” guys Al Gough and Miles Millar.
I AM NUMBER FOUR is the first of a planned six books, so if the first one is a smash, you know what we’re in for.
