Beasts of No Nation’s Abraham Attah joins Spider-Man: Homecoming

When Cary Fukunaga and casting director Harrison Nesbit were looking for actors for BEASTS OF NO NATION, they were having trouble finding someone to fill the role of Agu, the boy who is forced to become a child soldier. The kids who came out to audition just didn't have it and so Fukunaga and Nesbit visited various schools in Ghana to find Agu themselves. It was at one of these schools where they found Abraham Attah as he was skipping class and out playing soccer with his friends. The rest, as they say, was history and if you've seen BEASTS OF NO NATION, you've likely been impressed by his work.

Abraham Attah will be tackling his first major project after BEASTS OF NO NATION as Deadline is reporting that Attah has joined the cast of SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING. There's no information on who Attah will be playing, but given his age I'd imagine that he'll be filling the role of one of Peter Parker's (Tom Holland) classmates. SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING has certainly been putting together an interesting cast over the past few weeks, with Donald Glover, Martin Starr, Hannibal Buress, Kenneth Choi, Logan Marshall-Green, and others joining Tom Holland, Robert Downey Jr., Marisa Tomei, Zendaya, and Michael Keaton. Production on the Jon Watts film kicked off just yesterday and judging from the set photos, they're already having some geeky fun.

SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING hits theaters on July 7, 2017.
