I've not been a big supporter of the live-action BEAUTY AND THE BEAST remake, but I know many people are excited. I've just always been put off by the Stockholm Syndrome aspects of the story (even if it's a bit more nuanced than that), and also the new Steampunk nightmare designs of the characters leave a bit to be desired, in my opinion. Even the addition of an openly gay character is wrought with potential pitfalls, based on the character they chose.
But there's a new clip released from Disney, and maybe it can change my mind:
It's a short, but fun, clip that nonetheless has some scary connotations. Like, no taste buds? That must be a nightmare! It hasn't changed my mind, but if the reviews are good enough I might give the film a shot.
