The DCU is aiming to grab public audiences by the throat and show them something never before seen with BATMAN V SUPERMAN and SUICIDE SQUAD. Regardless of the end result, you gotta admit that they're taking a pretty ballsy approach with its characters. Ben Affleck's Batman is, undoubtedly, the one audiences are looking forward to most, and if you were worried that you wouldn't get to see the Dark Knight kick some ass in SUICIDE SQUAD, you can put those fears to rest. Director David Ayer confirmed that Batfleck will certainly bring his A-game to the picture, even if it's just in limited capacity. Check out what he had to see right below this new pic, thanks to USA Today!
David Ayer on Batman's involvement in SUICIDE SQUAD:
We made him fight. He’s awesome (as Batman). … You really sense that but for the grace of God he himself would be doing some really foul stuff out in the world.
We've seen some pics of Bats trying to take down the Joker, so I'm hoping he has more to do than just that. However, even Affleck himself seems pretty excited for the flick, having said that "It felt like I have such a cool cousin. This thing that is so awesome is somehow related to me, and that was really exciting because it started to feel like a constellation of things, and I’ve never had that feeling.” In any case, SUICIDE SQUAD will represent a different kind of comic book film altogether, and I really hope Ayer and Co. can pull it off.
SUICIDE SQUAD will hit theaters on August 5, 2016.
