If you weren’t a fan of last year’s BATMAN V. SUPERMAN then the upcoming video game, INJUSTICE 2, will give you another opportunity to see the Dark Knight and the Man of Steel duke it out. It being a video game means this time not only do you get to watch it play out in a story, but you also get to control the characters! Whaaaaaat? We live in exciting times, and now you can get yourself that much closer to the action in a new trailer for the game that pits the two titans against each other, as well as confirms the playability of Cyborg, who makes his cinematic debut in JUSTICE LEAGUE (played by Ray Fisher) this year.
On top of that there is now some super sweet concept art to go with it, featuring Superman taking on Catwoman, Flash, Blue Beetle and Harley Quinn…at once! Gorilla Grodd’s arm is seen off to the side, meaning there’s probably more to this, much like the concept art from AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON all those years ago.
I enjoyed playing the first INJUSTICE, but fighting games don’t hold my attention for too long. I just get my ass kicked when I go online to play, and the stories are never worth more than a play through. But the comic book world universe on display here is too epic to ignore, so at the very least I’ll dedicate several days to this. If you don’t hear from me in a week call the cops.
INJUSTICE 2 arrives May 16.
