Batman: The Killing Joke

Talk of an animated adaptation of Alan Moore and Brian Bolland’s "Batman: The Killing Joke" went on for several years before Bruce Timm, Mark Hamill and Kevin Conroy finally all joined forces to bring us the real deal. BATMAN: THE KILLING JOKE will see Kevin Conroy starring as the voice of Batman/Bruce Wayne, Mark Hamill as the Joker, and Tara Strong as Batgirl/Barbara Gordon. Alan Moore's comic finds the Joker attempting to drive Commissioner Jim Gordon insane and follows Batman's desperate attempt to stop him before it's too late. With the premiere of the R-rated animated film fast approaching, DC Comics All Access have released the first clip from the film. If you're prefer not to wade through the comics and toys, the clip in question kicks off at 3:55. You're welcome.

That Joker, what a sneak. It's nice to see that things have improved over the sometimes jerky animation featured in the first trailer for THE KILLING JOKE, but fans will get the chance to see the finished product for themselves before too long. BATMAN: THE KILLING JOKE will make its world premiere at the upcoming San Deigo Comic-Con which runs from July 21–24. The film will also enjoy a "one-night only" theatrical release on June 25th before landing on Digital HD on June 26th with a Deluxe Edition Blu-ray following on August 2nd.
