Barbara Hershey currently has an even 100 acting credits listed on her IMDb page, and soon they'll be adding #101. She'll be earning that 101st credit with a recurring role on the next season of The X-Files, where she'll be playing a character named Erika Price. Deadline hears that Price is "a powerful figure who represents a mysterious organization".
Hershey has been acting for over 50 years at this point, and over the course of her career she has earned an Oscar nomination (for 1996's THE PORTRAIT OF A LADY) and starred in some notable genre projects – THE ENTITY, BLACK SWAN, INSIDIOUS, INSIDIOUS: CHAPTER 2.
On The X-Files, Hershey joins a cast that includes returning stars David Duchovny, Gillian Anderson, Mitch Pileggi, Annabeth Gish, and William B. Davis.
Fox entertainment chairman David Madden has said that the 10 episode season will start right where the previous season's finale left off,
with that big helicopter and takes you right from there. You'll be launched into a very urgent adventure that has a lot to do with William — Mulder and Scully's kid. So the search for William will be a significant thread through the show."
The X-Files returns to Fox sometime in 2018.
