Warner Bros. has spent a number of years developing a feature-film based upon Justice League Dark, the superhero team consisting of DC's more occult characters, such as John Constantine, Deadman, Zatanna, Madame Xanadu, Shade, and the Changing Man, but haven't had much luck. Directors such as Guillermo del Toro and Doug Liman have been attached to JUSTICE LEAGUE DARK at various periods over the years, only to depart the project, but now Deadline believes that J.J. Abrams' Bad Robot production company will be the next to take a crack at it.
J.J. Abrams and Bad Robot closed a multi-million dollar deal with Warner Media last year, and one of their first projects will reportedly be to develop film and TV projects based on Justice League Dark. That said, the deal is still in the very early stages and Deadline says that there aren't any specific projects or characters being focused upon at this time, but it's also been said that Bad Robot's Head of Motion Pictures Hannah Minghella and Head of Television Ben Stephenson will soon be taking meetings with talent representatives regarding which Justice League Dark characters will get their own projects. It's not known if J.J. Abrams (STAR WARS: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER) will be taking the helm of any of these projects himself, but as I said above, it's still very early days.
