Babylon: Dream big and party bigger in the newest trailer for Damien Chazelle’s epic

Tinseltown is known to be the city of sin and excess, and Damien Chazelle’s Babylon is aiming to show how it all started with a portrait of the film industry reaching new glamorous heights as talkies become the rage and the “movie star” life brings a nature of instability. Chazelle has already made an ode to old Hollywood musicals with a modern twist with La La Land, and now, he brings us another look at behind-the-scenes carnage in the new trailer from Paramount.

The official synopsis from Paramount reads,

“From Damien Chazelle, BABYLON is an original epic set in 1920s Los Angeles led by Brad Pitt, Margot Robbie and Diego Calva, with an ensemble cast including Jovan Adepo, Li Jun Li and Jean Smart. A tale of outsized ambition and outrageous excess, it traces the rise and fall of multiple characters during an era of unbridled decadence and depravity in early Hollywood.”

The film’s cast includes names such as Brad Pitt, Margot Robbie, Diego Calva, Jean Smart, Jovan Adepo, Li Jun Li, P.J. Byrne, Lukas Haas, Olivia Hamilton, Tobey Maguire, Max Minghella, Rory Scovel, Katherine Waterston, Flea, Jeff Garlin, Eric Roberts, Ethan Suplee, Samara Weaving, and Olivia Wilde.

Executive producers for the film include co-star Tobey Maguire, as well as Michael Beugg, Wyck Godfrey, Helen Estabrook, and Adam Siegel. The film is also produced by Marc Platt, p.g.a., Matthew Plouffe, p.g.a., and Olivia Hamilton, p.g.a.   

The film is scheduled for release in theaters on December 23.
