Turbulence (1997)
Director: Robert Butler
Stars: Ray Liotta, Lauren Holly, Brendan Gleeson
This weekend, Tom Hanks is piloting a crippled airplane to possible Oscar gold in Clint Eastwood's SULLY, but not even Chelsey Sullenberger can save the plane in this week's Awfully Good Movie: the 1997 thriller TURBULENCE, starring Ray Liotta and Lauren Holly! Take one psychopathic murderer of women, add a spunky flight attendant, put them together on an airplane one fateful Christmas Eve, and you've got yourself some comedy gold. Granted, it's not supposed to be funny, but when you've got a movie with dialogue like "You're gonna be the first cop to die with a plane up his ass!", chances are it's gonna be a bumpy flight. So please get back to your seats, put on your seatbelts, and make sure your funny bones are in their full upright position.
