Next week, the summer movie season begins, and the GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY come back for VOL. 2, so Awfully Good Movies is celebrating with a less beloved space adventurer: Hulk Hogan as the SUBURBAN COMMANDO! Yes, in that mercifully short window of time where Hulk Hogan tried becoming a movie star, he went to space playing the intergalactic warrior Shep Ramsey, defeating evil alien overlords throughout the galaxy…for the first 5 minutes of the movie, that is. But the rest of the movie has him having to land his spaceship on the planet Earth for repairs, and renting an apartment in the suburbs from Christopher Lloyd to live in while he waits. However, he's still got some intergalactic baddies on his tail following him down to Earth, so he and Christopher Lloyd have to team up to fight them off in the oddest buddy pairing this side of Sylvester Stallone and Estelle Getty. Add in some wacky setpieces involving Hulk riding skateboards, playing arcade games, and fiddling with leftover props from GHOSTBUSTERS (not to mention the sight of Shelley Duvall in lingerie), and you've got yourself one hell of an Awfully Good stew going! What you gonna do, brother, when SUBURBAN COMMANDO-Mania runs wild on you?!?
