Last year the Avengers faced their greatest threat, Thanos (Josh Brolin), and lost with over half of the universe’s population ceasing to exist, which was pretty heavy. The remaining heroes will do what they can to get back at the Mad Titan in AVENGERS: ENDGAME, and if you’re going to see the battle to end all battles in theaters, you best see it on the biggest screen you can. Enter IMAX, and in the new side-by-side comparison video featuring the ENDGAME trailer, you get to see an extra 26 percent more on the screen, proving you indeed get more bang for your buck.

The ENDGAME trailer may not have the action and spectacle of the INFINITY WAR trailers last year, but the video still makes a great case for seeing even basic character interactions in IMAX. The scenes of Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) lost in space have more scope and detail, while Jeremy Renner gets more room to shine with his sweet sword and hood. I made time for an IMAX showing of INFINITY WAR among my half-dozen theater trips, and it was among the best viewings of the movie, with the grandeur of it all washing over. I’m looking forward to seeing if ENDGAME can achieve that same level of epicness in IMAX, so count me in.

As per the IMAX site, ENDGAME is the second movie after INFINITY WAR to be shot entirely with IMAX cameras, so if you want to see the movie right it best be done in an IMAX theater.  Here’s a bit of info about the IMAX cameras used on ENDGAME:

Directors Joe and Anthony Russo utilized the ALEXA IMAX 65mm camera to film AVENGERS: ENDGAME. It is a next-generation revolutionary 2D digital camera developed through a partnership between ARRI and IMAX for use by today’s leading filmmakers working in the IMAX® format. The camera, when combined with IMAX’s digital re-mastering process, delivers the highest level of digital image capture and playback resulting in stunning lifelike images with pristine clarity, incredibly fine detail, vivid colors and a higher dynamic range for superior contrast. This camera is no stranger to the world of superheroes as it was first used by the Russo Brothers to shoot the airport battle sequence of CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR, and again for AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR (in its entirety).

AVENGERS: ENDGAME hits theaters April 26.
