Not even a zombie apocalypse can wipe out the bad boy musician cliché, as we'll see when ZOMBIELAND 2 is released next year. Avan Jogia, who may be best known for his roles in the television shows Victorious and Ghost Wars, has joined the cast of the ZOMBIELAND sequel to play a character called Berkeley, who's described as being "the epitome of the bad boy musician that you would hate for your daughter to fall in love with."
The name Berkeley fits in with the names of the characters played by returning ZOMBIELAND stars Woody Harrelson (Tallahassee), Jesse Eisenberg (Columbus), Emma Stone (Wichita), and Abigail Breslin (Little Rock).
Jogia's fellow new addition is Zoey Deutch, whose character name was not revealed in her casting announcement.
The ZOMBIELAND creative team of director Ruben Fleischer and screenwriters Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese have reunited for the sequel, which has the following synopsis:
Through comic mayhem that stretches from the White House and through the heartland, the Zombie slayers must face off against many new kinds of zombies that have evolved since the first movie, as well as some new human survivors. But most of all, they have to face the growing pains of their own snarky, makeshift family.
Gavin Polone is producing the film, with Wernick and Reese serving as executive producers.
I can't say I'm familiar with most of Jogia's work, but he'll definitely have my attention when ZOMBIELAND 2 reaches the screen in October 2019.
