It used to be that you wouldn't start seeing television spots for upcoming movies until just a few weeks before their release, with studios saving their ad buys for when they'd drum up the most awareness and, as a result, be the most effective.
Those days are over, with Lucasfilm and Disney already dropping their first TV spot for ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY here in August – 4 1/2 months in advance of the film's December release.
I guess you can do that when you have more money than you know what to do with and can't spend it fast enough.
You're not getting anything here you haven't seen before, but the mission here is to fire up the enthusiasm in your loins that another STAR WARS movie is coming this December, in case you didn't already know (and maybe even if you already did). Disney knows how to make that paper.
