If you ever got around to checking out Joe Cornish's fantastic ATTACK THE BLOCK then you no doubt remember the character Moses, as portrayed by standout actor John Boyega. Boyega's performance caught the attention of Hollywood and the actor has recently been mentioned as one of the contenders for a leading role in J.J. Abrams upcomng STAR WARS EPISODE VII. But that beloved franchise isn't the only one clamoring to get Boyega attached as The Hollywood Reporter's Borys Kit has revealed, via Twitter, that Boyega is also being eyed for TERMINATOR: GENESIS in the role of the son of Miles Dyson, the Cyberdyne engineer largely responsible for the birth of Skynet.
With both projects entering production shortly, Boyega can't appear in both, and it remains to be seen which film will ultimately claim the young star. Personally, I'm hoping to see him in TERMINATOR: GENESIS as the character of Dyson's son could become an integral part of the story and future installments in the franchise.
Dyson's son, Daniel, was seen briefly in TERMINATOR: JUDGMENT DAY when Sarah Connor attempts to kill Miles Dyson (played in that film by Joe Morton), but is intercepted by John Connor and the T-800 Terminator. After telling Dyson the story of the future war, they decide to destroy the technology that would spawn the threat that destroys humanity.
TERMINATOR: GENESIS stars Emilia Clarke who will play Sarah Connor, Jason Clarke as John Connor and Jai Courtney will take on Kyle Reese while Arnold Schwarzenegger returns as the Terminator. It is currently eyeing a July 1, 2015 release.
