Astron-6 taps Udo Kier and American Mary’s Tristan Risk for The Editor

Filmmaking collaborative Astron-6, those crazy cats behind Troma's FATHERS DAY and the cult hit MANBORG, are back at it with the upcoming love letter to Italian giallo cinema THE EDITOR and now we've got some casting news on the flick to share with you.

Genre legend Udo Kier and AMERICAN MARY's Tristan Risk have come onboard THE EDITOR, which will also star Astron-6's Adam Brooks, MANBORG himself Matt Kennedy, and Conor Sweeney.

While Kier and Risk's roles have yet to be revealed it is known that Brooks will be playing the titular character, described as…

“a stressed-out and overworked six-fingered film editor whose life is thrown into turmoil as a body count rises in the film studio he works for.”

Fangoria is reporting that ENTER THE VOID’s Paz de la Huerta (who will also be seen next February in NURSE 3D) is currently in talks to join the film in a small role.

Sounds like THE EDITOR is shaping up to be a very interesting project indeed. It will be interesting to see how far the Astron-6 team take the colorful, bloodsoaked Italian subgenre.
