During the COVID-19 pandemic, many of us have taken to wearing face masks in public, and in fact doing so is now mandatory in some places around the world. German artist Lady Frankenstein and her husband are among those who have started wearing face masks for their safety and for the safety of others – but she used her artistry to make sure they wouldn't be going around with plain, regular masks.
Lady Frankenstein explained to Syfy Wire,
After I made myself a mask with octopus tentacles, my husband also wanted a fancy mask. Since we both think the ALIEN films are very cool and are big fans of them, I suggested to my husband to make a Facehugger as a mask. He was thrilled with the idea and I started."
With the use of a modeling clay called Super Sculpey, Lady Frankenstein was able to make a very cool-looking facehugger mask, which her husband can be seen wearing in the images below. It protects, and it looks awesome at the same time. Of course, Lady Frankenstein had to make this facehugger a bit smaller than the one in ALIEN, because her husband has to be able to see while he's wearing the thing.
Looking at Lady Frankenstein's creation, this is the first time I have ever wanted to have a facehugger on my face.
