Arthur and Mera rise from the depths in new Aquaman posters

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

Are you ready to get wet? What? Hey, hey, I'm talking about the new AQUAMAN posters, here. Get your head out of the gutter. Sheesh! Anyway, Warner Bros. debuted two new posters for director James Wan's AQUAMAN today, which stars Jason Momoa (GAME OF THRONES, JUSTICE LEAGUE) as the comic book action adventure's title character.

For the first poster, we're offered a glimpse of both Arthur (Momoa) and Princess Mera (Amber Heard) rising from the depths of an angry sea. Both look determined to defend their kingdom of Atlantis against any who would look to raise it to the ocean floor. In the other poster, we find Aquaman standing guard amidst a raging waterfall, dousing DC's aquatic avenger with foam, sea salt, and H20 aplenty. You can check out both posters for yourself below, and don't forget to click on each one if you'd like to order a print to keep for your very own. You can hang them wherever: the nerd room, your office, or on your bedroom ceiling above where you … sleep. Whatever's your pleasure.

Joining both Momoa and Heard for DC's AQUAMAN are Nicole Kidman (Queen Atlanna), Willem Dafoe (Nuidis Vulko), and Patrick Wilson (Orm/Ocean Master). Also set to star in DC's battle for the underwater throne are Dolph Lundgren (King Nereus), Randall Park (Dr. Stephen Shin), Djimon Hounsou (The Fisherman King), Temuera Morrison (Thomas Curry), and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (David Kane/Black Manta).

In the film, Arthur Curry learns that he is the heir to the underwater kingdom of Atlantis, and must step forward to lead his people and be a hero to the world. The screenplay written by David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick and Will Beall will find Aquaman teaming up with Mera, the former Queen of Xebel to protect an underwater kingdom and its people. Together, the dynamic deep-sea duo will cross paths with those who look to thwart Arthur's ascension to the Throne of Atlantis, including the malevolent Black Manta.

It won't be long now until AQUAMAN washes ashore in theaters come December 21st. While you're waiting, be sure to do your breathing exercises, as the film is sure to deliver plenty of aquatic acrobatics, black water nightmare monsters, and a GAME OF THRONES-like battle for supremacy over the seven seas.
