Arrow in The Head is the official media sponsor of PUFF 2017!

The Philadelphia Unnamed Film Festival has my favorite abbreviation and hashtag for a festival, with #PUFF. Classic. The horror fest is gearing up for its second year and we here at AITH are proud to announce that Arrow in the Head will be the cult & horror festival’s media sponsor in 2017!

AITH will also present the Opening Night film (TBD), and Editor-in-Chief Eric Walkuski and The Arrow himself, John Fallon, will be presented with the first annual Legacy Award!

Last year, PUFF went above and beyond to bring unusual and unreleased films to Philly for horror fans to enjoy, helping shine a spotlight on true cinematic outsiders. With Arrow in the Head’s ongoing dedication to independent genre cinema, PUFF is honored to build a partnership that will help our featured films reach a wider audience and bring some truly unique horror titles to Philadelphia once again.

After a successful launch in South Philly last October, including screenings of WE GO ON, KARATE KILL, and NIGHT OF SOMETHING STRANGE, PUFF returns in a much grander fashion this September in Philadelphia, PA. With a longer program and extended schedule, PUFF will take over the Proscenium Theater at the Drake in Center City Philadelphia.

In addition to the Opening Night film, PUFF 2017 will include short and feature-length genre films from around the world, with titles to be announced exclusively via AITH later this summer.

The original intent of PUFF was to bring an alternative film festival to Center City. We are excited to finally be near the heartbeat of the city in the beautiful Proscenium Theater at the Drake. It’s a fantastic location to hold a film festival, and our audience is going to love what we’ve got in store for them this year.

The second annual Philadelphia Unnamed Film Festival will also serve as a showcase for local Philadelphia talent, including regional artists as part of The Jerks’ Fused Underground. PUFF 2017 programming will also include the popular Bizarre Shorts block, highlighting experimental films, as well as the International Shorts Program and an awards ceremony highlighting the Best Feature Film, Best Short Film, and Best Local Submission in competition.

We can’t wait for Philadelphia film fanatics to see the eclectic selection of films we have curated for them this year. We are working hard to bring the best films to Philly and we are excited for everyone to come out to support independent film in this great city.

PUFF 2017 is still currently accepting short and feature submissions through Withoutabox, Film Freeway, and FFLife through their official site; submissions close August 18th.
