Arnold Schwarzenegger is a funny guy, maybe not traditionally so, but when you surround him with a few wacky characters and a handful of corny catchphrases and I'll be ready with a chuckle or two. Schwarzenegger will be returning to the world of action/comedy as THR reports that the action titan is set to star in WHY WE'RE KILLING GUNTHER, which will be written and directed by Saturday Night Live's Taran Killam.
WHY WE'RE KILLING GUNTHER will follow "a group of eccentric international assassins who become fed up with Gunther, the world's greatest hitman who also happens to be an arrogant show-off, and decide to kill him. Their master plan, however, quickly turns into a series of embarrassing encounters as Gunther always appears one step ahead." Schwarzenegger will play the titular hitman in the film, which also stars Taran Killam, Cobie Smulders, Bobby Moynihan, Paul Brittain, Kumail Nanjiani, Randall Park and Ryan Gaul. There's no release date as of yet, but it's said that production on WHY WE'RE KILLING GUNTHER should get underway this June during SNL’s summer hiatus.
Arnold Schwarzenegger's next film will be 478, a revenge drama in which he plays a man whose wife and child die in a plane crash which was caused by an air traffic controller's tragic screw up. The air traffic controller is vilified for his mistake and as a result, has to be placed into protective custody, which isn't about to stop Arnold from seeking vengeance on behalf of his family. Production on 478 wrapped early this year but the film doesn't have a release date as of yet.
