Arnold Schwarzenegger lends his voice to a new Predator video-game

In one form or another, Arnold Schwarzenegger has appeared in all six films in the TERMINATOR franchise, but in regards to PREDATOR, the other famous franchise Schwarzenegger helped to spawn, the actor only appeared in the original film. There was always talk of Schwarzenegger reprising the role of Dutch in the sequels, including a cameo in the finale of Shane Black's THE PREDATOR, but they never came to pass.

According to TheArnoldFans, Schwarzenegger is set to return to the PREDATOR franchise as he'll be lending his voice to an upcoming PREDATOR video-game.

The other day Predator came on, and I said to my girlfriend, "Let's watch the beginning." And we ended up watching the whole thing because it still held up today. Other movies don't hold up, but movies like Predator and the first Terminator really hold up, and it was really fun to watch. Interesting enough, a week later I was asked to do some voice-over for a video game that is coming out about Predator. So it was great that I watched it to get back in that mood again to do the voice-over.

Arnold Schwarzenegger didn't mention which PREDATOR video-game he's lending his voice to, but Predator: Hunting Grounds, a multiplayer shooter for PS4 and PC which allows you to play as human or predator, is set for an April 24, 2020 release. That said, it's also possible that Schwarzenegger is referring to another PREDATOR game which hasn't yet been announced.

As I mentioned above, there had been talk of Arnold Schwarzenegger reprising his role of Dutch in Shane Black's THE PREDATOR, but he wound up passing on the role. THE PREDATOR co-writer Fred Dekker revealed last July just how Schwarzenegger would have fit into the film, which he compared to Mark Hamill's appearance as Luke Skywalker at the end of STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS. "One of the master strokes of "The Force Awakens" is that ending. Because even though Luke doesn't do anything except turn around and have a beard, it touches that little nostalgia button in you and you go, 'Oh cool,'" Dekker said. "We very much wanted [Schwarzenegger]  in the film but what we had written was a cameo that would have spring-boarded into a major role in any sequel. He decided it wasn’t enough of a role and nobody was willing to put money on the possibility of a sequel. He would be taking a pay cut. He would have said, “Come with me if you want to live.” Shane had a talk with Arnold but at the end of the day, the sequel wasn’t a done deal and this is really not a lot of screen time for Arnold to go and fly to Canada and do a half day."
