Zack Snyder & Netflix’s Army of the Dead w/ Dave Bautista wraps filming

Boasting a reported $90 million budget and snagging Dave Bautista as the star, DAWN OF THE DEAD and WATCHMEN director Zack Snyder's upcoming "balls-to-the-wall zombie freakshow" Netflix movie ARMY OF THE DEAD will be hitting Netflix next winter. And today we've learned from Snyder himself that the film has wrapped shooting. Snyder posted on something called Vemo:

Me and my amazing camera department waiting for a cloud to pass on our final day of shooting…now that was fun!!!

 

The adventure is set amid  

a zombie outbreak in Las Vegas, during which a man assembles a group of mercenaries to take the ultimate gamble: venturing into the quarantined zone to pull off the greatest heist ever attempted.

If that's isn't good enough, here's a synopsis straight from director Zack Snyder:

The movie takes place in Las Vegas. A zombie plague hits Vegas, and they’re able to contain the virus to the city – they build a wall out of shipping containers. And then the city falls. And six years later, one of the casino owners hires this group of zombie soldiers to go get his money that he left in a safe in the casino.

Ori Marmur and Andrew Norman are overseeing for Netflix. Let's just hope the final product is more DAWN OF THE DEAD than SUCKER PUNCH. Not hating, just saying. How excited are you to see director Zack Snyder return to the world of zombies for this new heist action movie? Let us know below!

On top of directing ARMY OF THE DEAD, Snyder will also produce the movie with his wife, Deborah Snyder and Wesley Coller, based on a story by Snyder that was scripted by Joby Harold (AWAKE). It stars Dave Bautista, Ella Purnell, Omari Hardwick, Theo Rossi, Garret Dillahunt, Raül Castillo, Chris D’Elia, and Ana de la Reguera. It hits Netflix in Winter 2020.
