Armie Hammer could saddle up with Johnny Depp in The Lone Ranger

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

Now that Ryan Gosling is out, Armie Hammer is in.

Hammer is in early talks to star in the title role of Disney’s THE LONE RANGER, which is being helmed by Gore Verbinski. Johnny Depp will play his trusted sidekick, Tonto.

Justin Haythe (REVOLUTIONARY ROAD) wrote the script and Jerry Bruckheimer is producing.

We don’t have any real details beyond that. This project has been trying to get off the ground for sometime now. Depp originally wanted someone like George Clooney or Brad Pitt as the leading man. As I mentioned before, Ryan Gosling was rumored to star but apparently all the talk was premature. Also, Gosling is about to start working on the reboot of LOGAN’S RUN.
