Despite reports, Armie Hammer is NOT working at a hotel in the Cayman Islands

Armie Hammer may still be on the Hollywood canceled list in the aftermath of sexual abuse allegations made against the actor in 2021but that does not mean the millionaire actor is so hard up for work that he would actually get a normal job. Some fans were perplexed by an advertisement for a hotel in Grand Cayman that featured an image of someone that looked very much like the actor which seemed to insinuate that he worked there but, despite reports, Armie Hammer is NOT working at a hotel in the Cayman Islands.

Per Variety, an advertisement for a hotel in Grand Cayman featured an image of a concierge that appeared to be Armie Hammer. The image went viral this week after Desus & Mero producer Muna Mire shared a photo of the flier on their Twitter with a caption that read, “My friend’s parents went on vacation in the Cayman Islands, and Armie Hammer was their concierge.” The post has subsequently been deleted but it did showcase a fun back and forth with Mire’s mother as she insisted that Hammer worked at the hotel. The flyer reads, “I am your personal concierge and am here to help you get the very best from your vacation. I’ll give you a free orientation about the island: where swimming [sic] with wild turtles, the best snorkeling and diving spots. Reasonable prices for bioluminescence and fishing trips. Regards, Armie.”

After doing some digging, Variety determined that someone was having a laugh at Armie Hammer’s expense. The actor has summered in the Caymans since he was a kid and is a frequent guest at the hotel where he plays golf with some of the staff. The flyer turned out to be the work of some of Hammer’s golf friends. The flyer was sent to a few rooms at the resort as a prank to try and see if they could get any attention. As it turns out, they did get attention because an employee at the hotel said they have never seen so many calls come into the hotel until now.

While Armie Hammer would probably like to get back to work, he also isn’t in such dire straits that he would need to work at a hotel. He’s the great-grandson of an oil tycoon. He’ll likely always be rich. It is funny to think that someone would discover him pulling his weight working at a hotel but we now know it was an elaborate joke made by friends.
