Are you cool with waiting until 2014 for the next installment of Captain America?

You think Paramount/Marvel would want to roll out a sequel to CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER pretty quick (or maybe it’s just me). Apparently that’s not the case.

During in an interview with IndieWire for his next film, PUNCTURE, Evans confirmed that he’s doing three Cap movies and three Avengers films. He then talked about the possible release date for the next Captain America installment, “They may wait until 2014 until they release the next Cap. Marvel has a lot of balls in the air, they aren’t going to cannibalize their films.” Evans then went on to add that it would get rather costly if he made any other cameos as Cap, “Out of those six films, if I pop up in one of those [other films], it counts as part of the deal. So if they needed me in a third Cap, and I say, ‘Fuck you, give me $30 million,’ well…they want to avoid that.”

The truth is that there are other films to get to before Captain America 2 comes out, with THOR 2 and IRON MAN 3 calling firsties in 2013.

I enjoyed the first Cap film and have no problem waiting until 2014. I’d rather they took the extra time than just put some shit out there and called it a sequel. Cap deserves better.
