Aquaman 2: Patrick Wilson ready to make a sweaty return as Ocean Master

It's ain't easy being Ocean Master, but Patrick Wilson is doing the work to get back into Atlantean shape for the upcoming Aquaman sequel. Wilson played the villainous King Orm in the first film, who just so happened to be the half-brother of Arthur Curry/Aquaman (Jason Momoa), but with the finale leaving the door open for Orm's possible redemption, it should be interesting to see how the sequel handles him.

Patrick Wilson took to Instagram to tease his sweaty training for the Aquaman sequel, and he included a Tommy Boy hashtag that certainly hints at a slightly warmer relationship between Orm and Arthur this time around.

Jason Momoa will naturally be returning to star in the film, which will be directed and produced by James Wan with David Leslie Johnson McGoldrick writing the script. Despite rumours that she wouldn't be returning, it's expected that Amber Heard will also be returning for the Aquaman sequel, and it was announced just last week that Pilou Asbæk (Game of Thrones) had signed on as well. James Wan has previously teased that the upcoming will once again contain a touch of horror. "I would say yes. Just like the first movie had a touch of my horror sensibility in it, in regards to the Trench sequence, I would say there'll be a little bit of that in this next one," Wan explained. "I think it's something that's a big part of who I am, and it just naturally comes out in these kinds of films. And especially a movie like Aquaman, you know where the story takes place in these underwater worlds that can be very scary. So naturally, my love for the horror genre just means that I latch myself to these scenes and try to give them a little bit more of my scary sauce." Aquaman 2 is currently slated for a December 16, 2022 release.
