ANT-MAN is the one Marvel movie none of us can pin down. The tone, the content, the cast, everything about the movie has been in flux since Edgar Wright and Joe Cornish departed and were replaced by Peyton Reed and Adam McKay. But, one thing we do know is that Kevin Feige and Marvel wanted more consistency between ANT-MAN and the rest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and now we may have an idea of what that could be.
Latino Review has learned what earlier drafts of the ANT-MAN screenplay included to connect it with the rest of the MCU. It is unknown if this is accurate or from which draft of the script this appeared, but it is pretty cool.
In earlier drafts of the script, Hank Pym in the first act prologue has a meeting at S.H.I.E.L.D and meets up with Howard Stark, Peggy Carter, Armin Zola, and here is a cool one…a young Alexander Pierce.
This would likely place the opening scene after the events of CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER which could be anywhere from the late 1940s through the 1980s. It would also serve as a nice tie-in to the upcoming second season of AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. and the debut of AGENT CARTER. But, we have no confirmation if this scene will remain in the final draft of ANT-MAN. Still, sounds pretty damn cool.
ANT-MAN is slated to hit theaters on July 17, 2015.
