Ant-Man and The Wasp featurette breaks down the size-shifting car chases

"We're going to double down on all the things that we liked in the first movie," said director Peyton Reed in an ANT-MAN AND THE WASP featurette, and one of the things which audiences loved, naturally, was all of the miniaturized action. The upcoming sequel certainly looks as though it will deliver on that front, as well as all other sorts of size-shifting shenanigans. As we know from the trailers, one of the main action sequences in ANT-MAN AND THE WASP is a car chase which finds vehicles shrinking and growing as they race through the streets. It's not just Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) getting in on the action this time around, but also Hope van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly). Even Luis (Michael Peña) gets the chance to shine with his own size-shifting car. "Shrinking and growing as a visual concept, as a sci-fi idea, as a superhero idea, is so cool," executive producer Stephen Broussard said in the featurette. "One of the ideas of this film is that they exported shrinking and growing beyond just suits and people. Suddenly cars can shrink, entire buildings can shrink."

The official synopsis for ANT-MAN AND THE WASP:

From the Marvel Cinematic Universe comes “Ant Man and the Wasp,” a new chapter featuring heroes with the astonishing ability to shrink. In the aftermath of “Captain America: Civil War,” Scott Lang grapples with the consequences of his choices as both a Super Hero and a father. As he struggles to rebalance his home life with his responsibilities as Ant-Man, he’s confronted by Hope van Dyne and Dr. Hank Pym with an urgent new mission. Scott must once again put on the suit and learn to fight alongside the Wasp as the team works together to uncover secrets from the past.

ANT-MAN AND THE WASP will hit theaters on July 6, 2018.
