I don't know why, but I'm fascinated by this Archie reboot. I think this is like the third or fourth article I've written about it, and I seem to be the only one on this site interested in news about it. I mean, sure, the comics did some weird shit…
…but CW's RIVERDALE seems even weirder and more off-putting than that, if that's possible. Weirder still, I don't even think it looks bad. Then again, it could be a form of Stockholm Syndrome at this point. I mean, the actors are well-cast, and it's at least slick and stylish, with noirish harsh lighting contrasting the bright costumes (like Archie's signature letterman jacket). Hell, I like me some teen melodrama when it's done well, and it's not like Archie didn't have teen melodrama (I mean, the comic's famous for its eternal Betty-Veronica love triangle). To be fair, I don't think it had a lot of murder in it though.
Anyway, here's a new extended trailer released from CW. Let's have a look-see:
Wait, "No fingerprints"?, "The boy has a touch of evil"? Is there also some supernatural, Bob-shit going on too? Man, this keeps getting crazier and crazier. And I can't f*cking wait.
For other masochists like me, RIVERDALE will premiere on the CW January 26th, 2017 at 9pm ET
