Annie Potts will be back as Janine in Ghostbusters 3

It was just last week that we passed along the awesome news that Sigourney Weaver will reunite with Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd in director Jason Reitman’s upcoming GHOSTBUSTERS 3 (or whatever they're calling it). And if that wasn't good enough, today we have word via the actress herself that Annie Potts will be back as Janine Melnitz! 

Specifically, Potts says:

I have heard some things. If it’s true, what I’ve heard — yeah, I think it’s gonna happen. I think I will.

For those of you out there that somehow might not know, Potts played the Ghostbusters' secretary Janine in GHOSTBUSTERS and GHOSTBUSTERS II. Now that we know most, if not all the original cast is locked down to return this third time around, how about we get some confirmation on Rick Moranis as Louis Tully and Ernie Hudson as Winston Zeddemore, right?

The cast currently includes Carrie Coon as a single mother, with Finn Wolfhard as her son and Mckenna Grace as her daughter. As mentioned above, original GHOSTBUSTERS star Bill Murray says he's totally up for returning for this new film… if Reitman ever bothers to ask. As for the plot:

The film is said to focus on a family who moves back home to a small town. While there, they begin to learn more about who they are and the secrets of the town itself.

That's all we know at the moment, but I'm thinking we can expect to see all of this tie back to the original team of Ghostbusters in some way. But again, who knows? I guess We'll find out come July 10, 2020. Until then let us know how excited you are for this new GHOSTBUSTERS movie below!
