Annabelle director takes the helm of Lullaby, starring Oona Chaplin

John R. Leonetti is set to make his fifth horror film in a row, as the director of ANNABELLE, WOLVES AT THE DOOR, WISH UPON, and THE SILENCE has signed on to direct the folklore-inspired LULLABY for Alcon Entertainment.

Game of Thrones' Oona Chaplin will star in the film, which everyone is hoping will be "the beginning of a new horror franchise".

Scripted by Alex Greenfield and Ben Powell, LULLABY will center on

a new mother who discovers a lullaby in an ancient book and soon regards the song as a blessing. But her world transforms into a nightmare when the lullaby brings forth the ancient demon Lilith.

Alcon is fully financing the project, with the company's co-founders and co-CEOs Broderick Johnson and Andrew Kosove producing alongside Lee Nelson and David Tish of Envision Media Arts. Alcon's Carl Rogers and Scott Parish will executive produce with Markus Goerg, Mikhail Nayfeld, and Dick Hillenbrand of Heroes and Villains, Jeff Bowler, John Lewis, and Bret Saxon of B3 Media, and Mark Holder of Wonder Street.

Johnson and Kosove said,

LULLABY is based on a uniquely original idea that draws inspiration from varied rich and often terrifying mythological accounts. We firmly believe in John’s chilling vision and it’s our hope to deliver a film that is as thrilling onscreen as it is on the page."

I have enjoyed a couple of the movies Leonetti has made, but for the most part I'm not a fan of his directorial efforts. Hopefully LULLABY will be his best movie yet.
