So far THE CONJURING UNIVERSE has been on (mostly) a role with such films as THE CONJURING, THE CONJURING 2, ANNABELLE, ANNABELLE: CREATION, and the recently released THE NUN snagging up tons of cash and (mostly) praise from audiences and critics alike.
Up next in the Universe is writer/director Gary Dauberman's ANNABELLE 3, which will be creeping and crawling it's tiny terrifying ass into your local theater this coming July. Thus far we've heard that the story begins "with the Warrens bringing the Annabelle doll to a place where she can no longer wreak havoc: their Artifacts Room. Annabelle awakens the room’s evil which sets its sights on a new target: the Warrens’ ten-year-old daughter Judy. The young girl, along with her teenage babysitter cousin and the cousin’s friend, square off against the evil doll."
But today we have the film's official synopsis… which is basically the same thing. All the same here's is the official synopsis for ANNABELLE 3:
Determined to keep Annabelle from wreaking more havoc, demonologists Ed and Lorraine Warren bring the possessed doll to the locked artifacts room in their home, placing her “safely” behind sacred glass and enlisting a priest’s holy blessing. But an unholy night of horror awaits as Annabelle awakens the evil spirits in the room, who all set their sights on a new target—the Warrens’ ten-year-old daughter, Judy, and her friends.
Sounds about right to me. What do you think? Personally, I think this is a killer idea for the third entry in the possessed doll series. Even the simple pitch of NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM meets ANNABELLE is good enough for me. Hell, it couldn't be worse than the first ANNABELLE, right?
I keed, I keed.
Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga have signed on to appear in the new film reprising their THE CONJURING and THE CONJURING 2 roles of paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren along with Mckenna Grace as their daughter Judy, Madison Iseman is her babysitter cousin and Katie Sarife (Supernatural, Girl Meets World, Youth & Consequences) as her best friend who gets wrapped up in the evil shenanigans as well.
Filming began last month and the movie is all set to wreak more havoc within your local multiplex come July 3, 2019.
