Even though you think you may know someone, you may discover you really don’t know them at all. I know that sounds like something on a Snapple cap, but it’s true. Perhaps it can apply to the new movie A SIMPLE FAVOR, a movie starring Anna Kendrick as Stephanie, who is friends with Blake Lively’s Emily, a woman who exudes extravagance but has an aura of mystery to her, and who eventually goes missing. The first trailer for the movie from Paul Feig (BRIDESMAIDS, GHOSTBUSTERS) teases a classic mystery story that finds Stephanie searching for his best friend, possibly biting off more than she can chew!

The movie also stars Henry Golding, Linda Cardellini and more, and was written by Feig and Jessica Sharzer based on the book of the same name by Darcey Bell.
There’s not a lot to go on based on the trailer, but after doing big comedies like BRIDESMAIDS, THE HEAT, SPY and GHOSTBUSTERS, I can imagine Feig wanted to do something much smaller. Kendrick and Lively are exceptional talents and will probably turn in solid work here, and it looks like it will fit in nicely for anyone who likes movies and books like THE GIRL ON THE TRAIN…or seeing beautiful people around beautiful things in beautiful homes.
A SIMPLE FAVOR arrives September 14.
