Angelina Jolie set to star in Taylor Sheridan’s Those Who Wish Me Dead

After SICARIO, HELL OR HIGH WATER, and WIND RIVER, Taylor Sheridan has more than earned my attention, and Deadline reports that his next project will find the writer/director teaming up with Angelina Jolie.

The upcoming thriller, which goes by the title THOSE WHO WISH ME DEAD, will be written and directed by Sheridan with Angelina Jolie set to star in the film. Plot details are being kept under wraps as Jolie finalizes her deal, but the script is being described as a "hard-boiled chase thriller set against a wildfire in the Montana wilderness." Taylor Sheridan has adapted the script from the best-selling novel of the same name by Michael Koryta, and its synopsis via Amazon should give us a few more details.

When fourteen-year-old Jace Wilson witnesses a brutal murder, he's plunged into a new life, issued a false identity and hidden in a wilderness skills program for troubled teens. The plan is to get Jace off the grid while police find the two killers. The result is the start of a nightmare. The killers, known as the Blackwell Brothers, are slaughtering anyone who gets in their way in a methodical quest to reach him. Now all that remains between them and the boy are Ethan and Allison Serbin, who run the wilderness survival program; Hannah Faber, who occupies a lonely fire lookout tower; and endless miles of desolate Montana mountains. The clock is ticking, the mountains are burning, and those who wish Jace Wilson dead are no longer far behind.

I certainly like the sound of that. Once Taylor Sheridan completes the second season of Yellowstone, the plan is to launch right into THOSE WHO WISH ME DEAD by May. Speaking of Sheridan projects, THOSE WHO WISH ME DEAD seems to have bumped another project off the map for now. It was reported last October that Chris Pratt was in talks to star in a project by the name of FAST, which was to center on the leader of a black ops strike team going after a drug cartel that's protected by the CIA. It seems FAST has stalled at this point, but who knows what the future will bring. Angelina Jolie will next be seen in MALEFICANT 2 which is set for a May 29, 2020 release.
