As with any sprawling movie franchise, there are definitely areas in the Marvel Cinematic Universe which could be improved, but Marvel's casting is certainly not one of them as they almost always knock it out of the park. Expected to get underway early next year, Ryan Coogler's upcoming BLACK PANTHER is certainly no exception to Marvel's casting excellence and they've just made another great addition to their cast.

Angela Bassett (American Horror Story) has joined up with BLACK PANTHER and will play the role of Ramonda, mother to Chadwick Boseman's T'Challa. We still don't know exactly where Black Panther's first solo-adventure will take us, but we can be sure that its characters are in good hands. In addition to Chadwick Boseman, BLACK PANTHER also stars Michael B. Jordan as Killmonger, Lupita Nyong’o as Nakia, Winston Duke as M'Baka, Florence Kasumba as Ayo and Forest Whitaker as Zuri. Daniel Kaluuya and Danai Gurira will also star. Our biggest hint at the plot of BLACK PANTHER came from Lupita Nyong'o at Comic-Con earlier this year when she said that the film will see Black Panther’s leadership "threatened by two foes who come together, and so Black Panther gets the help of the C.I.A. and the Dora Milaje to try and defeat the enemy."

BLACK PANTHER is set for a February 16, 2018 release.
