One of the top actresses I like to keep tabs on is Ana de Armas. She did a bang-up job playing Ryan Gosling’s “girlfriend” in director Denis Villeneuve’s BLADE RUNNER 2049, and she even did a solid job (considering) in director Eli Roth’s KNOCK, KNOCK co-starring Lorenza Izzo and Keanu Reeves.
And it looks like Ana de Armas will be jumping back into the horror-thriller genre soon as Deadline reports she has just joined Helen Hunt and John Leguizamo in writer-director Michael Cristofer’s THE NIGHT CLERK. The film began production this week with Tye Sheridan producing and starring in the flick as:
Hotel night clerk Bart Bromley, a highly intelligent young man on the Autism spectrum. When a woman is murdered during his shift, Bart becomes the prime suspect. As the police investigation closes in, Bart makes a personal connection with a beautiful guest named Andrea, but soon realizes he must stop the real murderer before she becomes the next victim.
David Wulf produces along with Sheridan and Santosh Govindaraju, Dan Reardon, and Robbie Brenner are executive producing the film, which sounds to me like a mixture for an entertaining modern Giallo. I’m always down for a good horror-thriller mystery film so you can expect to see my butt in one of my local multiplex’s seats once the film hits.
We’ll let you know when we hear more!
