Love her or hate her, Amy Schumer’s star is on the rise as the comedian/actress prepares to star opposite Goldie Hawn in Jonathan Levine’s exotic locale comedy SNATCHED – a mother and daughter romp set for a Mother’s Day weekend release.
Here’s the official synopsis for the movie, which bears a script penned by THE HEAT and GHOSTBUSTERS scribe Katie Dippold:
After her boyfriend dumps her on the eve of their exotic vacation, impetuous dreamer Emily Middleton (Amy Schumer) persuades her ultra-cautious mother, Linda (Goldie Hawn) to travel with her to paradise. Polar opposites, Emily and Linda realize that working through their differences as mother and daughter – in unpredictable, hilarious fashion – is the only way to escape the wildly outrageous jungle adventure they have fallen into.
Obviously, I don’t fall into the target demographic for this film. That being said, I’ve watched the trailer and … I’ve got nothing. However, I did really enjoy Levine’s emotional comedy 50/50, so perhaps there are aspects of this adventure that I’ll be able to connect with that simply aren’t present in the footage released for it thus far. Not to waffle more than a truck stop, but I doubt that I’ll be ponying up any of my hard-earned dough for this one.
