American Horror Story season 3 officially brings back Taissa Farmiga and Frances Conroy

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

We knew it was likely, but now it’s official: The third season of “American Horror Story” will see the return of Taissa Farmiga, who memorably portrayed the tormented Violet Harmon from Season 1. In addition, Frances Conroy (Moira in Season 1 and The Angel of Death in Season Two) will also return. The two actresses join Jessica Lange, Evan Peters and Sarah Paulson in the third season.

While we don’t know anything about the third season, creator Ryan Murphy has said that it will be “funnier” than the second one, and will also be “more historical in nature” (even though it will take place in the present day).

Remains to be seen if folks like Dylan McDermott, Zachary Quinto, Lily Rabe and other castmembers from the past will come back, but you can likely count on it. Murphy also promises that he’ll be bringing in some new actors (apparently actors that Ms. Lange wants to work with).

The third season will commence in October.
