Back in the first season of American Horror Story (a season that's referred to as American Horror Story: Murder House), the FX show introduced Michael Langdon, a child who was said to be destined to become the Anti-Christ. When last seen, Michael was a three-year-old who had just murdered his nanny.
After sitting out several seasons of the anthology series, Michael will be returning in the upcoming eighth season, American Horror Story: Apocalypse, a crossover between the Murder House season and the show's third season, Coven.
Playing the now-adult Michael Langdon will be thirty-year-old Australian actor Cody Fern. The casting announcement was made by American Horror Story creator Ryan Murphy, who recently worked with Fern on a different anthology series, American Crime Story (which Murphy executive produces).
Set in a not-so-distant future ("18 months from today"), American Horror Story: Apocalypse also stars Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Kathy Bates, Adina Porter, Cheyenne Jackson, Billy Eichner, Leslie Grossman, Emma Roberts, Billie Lourd, Jeffrey Bowyer-Chapman, Kyle Allen, and Joan Collins.
Murphy has said,
You will see so many fan favorites return (this season) that you’ll feel like it’s The Love Boat. It’s a very high concept. It’s a season unlike anything we’ve done because there’s a big hook to it. There’s a huge thing that happens in episode five."
American Horror Story: Apocalypse will premiere on FX on Wednesday, September 12th.
